This past March Break, Kidzwhiz ran three exciting camps held at our Markham location. Campers had a fun, hands-on, engaging and interactive experience in a comfortable and encouraging environment. Our instructors provided exceptional guidance, real-life applications, and ensured a balance of learning time and exploration time were achieved to allow campers to grasp concepts effectively and stretch their imaginations!
A look back...
Game Development Camp
In game development camp, campers produced their very own maze, platforming and scrolling shooter games. They invented their own characters, designed their own story and settings, which resulted in a fully functional game that was greatly enjoyed among other campers. Campers learned concepts of gravity, strategy, portals, and more, in order to create a fun, challenging game that they were proud to share with family and friends. The creativity was astounding! From bananas, to chicken nuggets, to monsters, each game was unique and allowed each campers’ imaginations to shine brightly!
” I really enjoyed testing out the games, learning about sprites, and making an alien in the scrolling type game! I hope that one day I can learn how to put my games on the internet for everyone to play.”

Robotics Camp
Campers explored the world of robotics as they built multiple projects over the course of the week, and programmed robots with moving parts, sensors, and sounds! With each project, instructors provided campers with important background knowledge and facts about each item which provided a more holistic experience.

For example, when building the bee project, campers learned about the different types of bees and how they collect pollen from flowers.

Check out this camper’s creativity as he transformed his LEGO WeDo elephant into his very own creation!
Variety Camp

Variety campers got the opportunity to explore a different technology concepts each day! These included LEGO WeDo, Hopscotch, Gamemaker, Ozobot, and Scratch. This provided an amazing opportunity for each camper to discover what interests them the most and develop a collection of technology skills.
