PA Day Camp Recap

Imagine building a moving robot, programming a tiny bot to follow you around, and creating your own animations – all in one day! Kidzwhiz PA Day Camps makes that possible!

On Monday, April 22 2019, Kidzwhiz ran a PA Day Camp where our wonderful campers accomplished those activities above and more! Check out highlights from their day below:

LEGO WeDo

LEGO WeDo is a robotics hardware and software platform that allows children to connect to a story, construct a model, contemplate its function, and continue improving its design. This PA Day, campers built crocodiles, monkeys, and sleighs. Campers follow the build process step by step and then learn the simple click-and-drag icons to activate a motor, which might also be dependent on a sensor, in a logical and sequential schema.

Ozobot

Ozobot is a tiny programmable robot that loves to be guided by your child’s imagination! Children can program it to follow special codes that they can carefully draw out, or even to recognize their finger as they guide it wherever they want it to go! The colors and sequencing of its lights allows for observation if ozobot is following the commands and its response to different codes. This helps children to get into the mindset of how to conceive of a sequence of commands and attach them to a visual outcome.

Scratch Jr.

ScratchJr is an introductory programming language that enables young children to create their own interactive stories and games! Children snap together graphical programming blocks to make their characters move, jump, dance, and sing. They can also modify their characters in the paint editor, add their own voices and sounds. After that they can use the programming blocks to make their characters come to life, such as this magical wizard show above!
